History of O.W. Hubbell & Sons Inc.
In 1925, Orville William Hubbell founded O.W. Hubbell & Sons, Inc. He developed a highway safety company, fabricating and installing highway guardrail and signs. The steel portions of these products had to be galvanized. In 1968 to meet productions needs the company built their own hot dip galvanizing plant. The company grew from a New York State operation to cover all of New England. William Allen Hubbell, son of Orville Hubbell, was an active presence in the company until his death in 2005. Currently, Orville's grandsons Dan Hubbell and Jock Hubbell are President/CEO and Vice President respectively. Today, we still serve all of New York State, New England, and Pennsylvania.
The galvanizing plant has with expanded capabilities. Our kettle is 4 ft. wide x 43 ft. long x 6 ft. deep. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The main office moved to 5124 Commercial Drive East, Yorkville in June of 2006. We are in the process of moving the powder coating facility into this location.
